The premiere of the first-ever theatre adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ internationally acclaimed book and Lionsgate’s motion-picture, The Hunger Games: On Stage comes to London in 2025. The theatrical event of the year will be performed in a brand-new state of the art venue, Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, located in the heart of the city. Based on the original “Hunger Games” story, this gripping tale of courage, defiance and unbreakable human spirit, follows the fearless heroine Katniss Everdeen on her journey of self-discovery, as she emerges as a beacon of rebellion and hope.Multi award-winning playwright Conor McPherson (Girl from the North Country, The Weir) and Director Matthew Dunster (2:22 – A Ghost Story, Hangmen, The Pillowman), will bring this powerful story to life on stage, using extraordinary stunts and illusions in an epic, unforgettable, theatrical experience.
Created by the award-winning team behind Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, which is home to Starlight Express and previously King’s Cross Theatre, which was home to the sell-out productions The Railway Children, David Bowie’s Lazarus and In the Heights, Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre will follow in the footsteps of these previous venues to create an exciting cultural destination.Spanning over 3 floors, with an outside terrace, plus of course plenty of toilets, this new venue continues Troubadour’s legacy in creating contemporary, specious theatre spaces that are fully flexible for unique productions.Easily accessible by its excellent transport links, including by boat, and set amongst world-leading retail and entertainment districts, Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre will be London’s premiere new venue in 2025.
